This course is a four credit hour introduction to microbiology for nursing and allied health majors.  This classroom portion of the course meets three hours a week and the lab portion meets an additional three hours a week.  The course will cover numerous aspects of the microbial world; however, it will concentrate on human-microbe interactions.

For more detailed information, examine the syllabus and course policies. For advice on how to succeed in this course, and in all other courses, take a peek at the lecture hints. Bloom's taxonomy of understanding will help you differentiate the increasing levels of insight of a topic.

It is critical to read the text before coming to class. The fourth column refers to the two online texts  that cover the scope of microbiology: Todar's Online Textbook of Microbiology and OpenStax College's Biology. The chapters in Todar are not numbered so the first few words of the section are listed before the page numbers  The chapter numbers in the OpenStax text refer to the web view version of the text. If you download the PDF version of the file, the chapter numbers will be different.
