“I don’t like this,” said Egil over the din.

Kham turned, his back to the altar to Althares. “Me neither.” He nodded towards the female cultist. “Say, Thuron?”

“Yes, Kham?”

Everyone stopped talking. Kham hadn’t lowered his pistols. He was focused on the Althares sister.

“Doesn’t your order take a vow of poverty?”

“Yes,” said Thuron.

“Thought so,” said Kham.
