Our fourth visit to the Toledo Botanical Gardens

      I was 'feeling lucky' today, so I risked taking Feodora out in my truck. We went to the Toledo Botanical Gardens.


      This is the northern of the two gazebos at the gardens (map). I wanted to get to the Pond Gazebo as well ("a" on the map), but it had taken four hours to get these pictures done. I got tired and left.

      There are two of these large vase sculptures at the intersections of the walkways near the gazebo on the Grand Allee, which runs east-west. The gazebo is at the west end (behind the camera). A large planted area is at the east end. Both east-west walkways are lined with Silver Linden trees.


      There is a beautiful wooden bridge behind Feodora's right arm, but the background is overexposed.


A cozy scene.


      The stone stucture in the Cottage Garden and Green Garden areas reminds me of a Spanish villa. This picture is inside the Green Garden (northeast side of the wall).


      This gate is the passageway from the Cottage Garden to the Green Garden (part of the Spanish villa). This picture is in the Cottage Garden (southwest side of the wall).


      Feodora is just north of the center on the wooden bridge. You are looking west at what used to be Crosby Lake. The water level fell a lot during the drought, so they dredged the other side (Lake Lawn "e" on the map). This is where they put the material.


      These arches were painted brown (like the 'window' behind Feodora) the first time I saw them. They looked quite natural for a garden setting. Now they look like something erected by space aliens!

      Feodora Verochka Tychovich is a life-sized platinum-cured silicone rubber doll. She was produced by Oleg Bratkov (a gifted sculptor) and his beautiful wife Irina (excellent makeup artist), at Anatomical Doll in Vladivostok, Russia. Feodora has Face 3 and Body 3 of their product line. She has a fully articulated skeleton and can pose in most natural ways that a human can pose. There are 'stops' on the skeleton that prevent her from posing in unnatural ways. This also helps to prevent damage to the silicone.
