For the family of John B. Ratterman & Catherine Lauterbur

JOHN BERNARD RATTERMAN was born on 25 March 1865 in Fort Loramie, Shelby County, Ohio. His parents were Arnold Ferdinand Ratterman and Bernhadina M. Pille.   He married CATHERINE LAUTERBUR on 08 October 1885 at St. Patricks in Shelby County, Ohio.  She was  born on 04 February 1867 in New Reigle, Seneca County, Ohio to Nicholas Lauterbur and Anna Nick.

In 1888 (at the birth of their son George), we find them living in Berlin, Ohio.  (which would later be known as Fort Loramie).  At the time of the federal censuses in 1900, 1910 and 1920, they are living on Elm Street, in Loramie Village in Shelby County, Ohio.  In the 1920 census, John is listed as being a machinist in a factory.

They had 8 children, all surnamed RATTERMAN:

John and Catherine were both members of the St. Michael’s Church in Fort Loramie, Ohio.  John was also a charter member of the St. Marins Commandery and St. Joseph Sodality.  He was also a member of the C.K. and A.  John was the president of the Minster Mutual Fire Insurance Company for a nmber of years.  At the time of his death he was serving as a member of the Board of Directors.  John died on 05 May 1933 in Fort Loramie.  Around 1942, Catherine became a resident of the St. Francis home in Tiffin, Ohio.  She died on 15 January 1950 in Tiffin.   They are both buried at the New St. Michael’s Cemetery in Fort Loramie, Ohio.
