[ Friday | Saturday | Sunday ]

I'd be lying if I said I-CON is filled with mystery and wonder for me anymore. It ain't no Dragon*Con, for example. There are some really cool costumes that people are wearing, but nothing like Dragon*Con. It's also no Gen Con. While there is some gaming, it can't hold a candle to Gen Con.

But what I-CON does have is diversity. There is a nearly equal amount of fans from all over geekdom, excepting perhaps furries who seem to be on the rise. This eclectic mix of geeks makes for an interesting culture clash that's not altogether unpleasant. There's always something new to do at I-CON, if you're willing to look beyond what drew you there in the first place.

I have my foot in two worlds: online gaming and tabletop role-playing games. I was on no less than six panels at I-CON as a result. And I loved every minute of it. This probably has something to do with me being a big attention whore. But I digress.
