Board votes $5,000.00 for Gateway
At its monthly meeting on September 1, 2011, the Anderson Sertoma Club board of Directors voted to donate $5,000.00 to Gateway Association. In recent years our club has donated $10,000.00 to Gateway, but this year we had only donated $5000.00 to the Association. With the additional donation we have matched our usual annual donation.
In the current economic environment our annual Mayor's Cup Grand Prix fundraiser came in with a little less this year. We had (Continued on page 2)

Rev. Rasmussen Speaks about Africa
The Reverend Ryan Rasmussen was our guest for dinner at the August 11th meeting at the First Presbyterian Church. Rev. Rasmussen is the pastor of this church and he was our speaker for the meeting. He told us about his experiences on a mission to Nairobi, Kenya in Africa.
Rev. Rasmussen's story was, in many ways, a very sad story. The bright spot was the efforts of the folks who were trying to help the young street people in this area. He told us of the abject poverty of this (Continued on page 2)
