to adjust our giving to match our income. But, thanks to our rental of the barriers that we purchased with the aid of supporters, our income continued after the race. We can now continue to support our sponsorships after the race has finished. Gateway Association has also been challenged in the current economy and must find ways to generate additional income. They are now hosting a fundraiser with Garfields at the Mall in Anderson. On Tuesday, September 20th, if you have dinner between 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., Gateway will receive 10% of your bill. So, go and enjoy a fine dining experience and help Gateway at the same time. Another way you can help Gateway is to attend the "Longaberger Basket & Vera Bradley Bingo night at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 14th at Alexandria High School Cafeteria. Tickets for this event are $12.00 per person and the prize for every game is a Longaberger basket or a Vera Bradley bag.

city and country and the challenge of trying to make a difference in the lives of those who are caught in this environment. He related that one of the greatest problems he faced was trying to motivate the young boys in his area to resist the temptaion of "Huffing". Huffing is the practice of breathing the intoxicating fumes of a shoe polish that is cheap enough for the street kids to afford. There are so many obstacles and distractions involved in the poverty of the city that progress is measured one kid at a time. We all came away grateful to be living here in the U.S.A.
