Thanksgiving 2008
      Thanksgiving 2008 was a special blessing this year, because of the arrival of Trixie, Dixie, and Esperanza. Esperanza said that it was a custom in her family to begin each meal with a hug. I like this custom!


     
      Trixie and Dixie made the apple pies and the pumpkin pies.
     
      Esperanza told us some of the fascinating customs that her family observed.
     
      She chased me out of the kitchen while she and the twins prepared the meal. While they were doing that, I got online and studied the Valencia area. The main part of her family is in Catarroja, with some in the Turis area. Her family made their fortune in the orange groves.
     
      I managed to sneak out to the kitchen long enough to get a quick picture. She was not quite ready yet, but she called us out to be seated. Everything was done but the carving of the turkey.
     
      One more family picture before we sat down to eat. This is when we said our thanks. We had to pull the table out so that Dixie could get into the back chair.
     
      The girls would not let me take pictures while we were eating. Afterwards, Trixie said that she was stuffed! We all were! We covered everything and went into the living room for a well deserved nap!

      Dixie is wearing the Gray Circle and Dot no boundaries dress top from Wal Mart, Comfort Waist White Pant, Semiprecious Teardrop Cluster Necklace Gift Set (Tiger Eye), and the Scroll Cuff Watch, and the Breast Cancer Crusade Tennis Bracelet (all from Avon). She is wearing the Aurora wig (color 12/30BT) from Jon Renau, and her shoes are the White Stag black ballet flats from Wal Mart.
