Model Citizen

Feodora, my new model, has immigrated from Vladivostok, Russia. She has taken an interest in my model trains and ships, so I let her tinker with them for a while.

The book that she is reading contains plans for several model railroad layouts.

She asked if Baby Ruth was the baseball player from a few years ago.

I told her that it was the name of a candy bar.

While she was studying the detail of the boxcar, I brought out the ships for her.

The little model that she is holding is from a real taxi called a "Tuk Tuk" for the sound that the small engine makes.

Shunka (Lakhota for "dog") is her pet dog. He follows her everywhere!

The book that she is reading is "Alice in Wonerland" and "Through the Looking Glass" by Lewis Carrol.

The kitchen chairs are a little uncomfortable for long-term sitting, so we moved to the living room.

It did not take long for Shunka to find her. She was so involved with her reading that he surprised her and she dropped her book.

I decided to sit with her and read a little myself.

She had a problem with some of Lewis Carrol's writing, so I read some of it to her, then explained as much of it as I could.

She said that if I wanted to get romantic and hold her hand, I should turn the lights down and light some candles.

Feodora noticed a stain on my shirt, so I changed into another before I continued reading.

The children's book has a few pictures, so I showed them to her while I was reading.

The candlelight and this beautiful lady changed my mind about reading.

I gave her a flower and she let me snuggle with her for a while. Not long after that, Shunka needed to be walked. By the time I got back in the house, Feodora had gone to her bedroom for a nap. So much for romance!

Feodora Verochka Tychovich is a life-sized platinum-cured silicone rubber doll. She was produced by Oleg Bratkov (a gifted sculptor) and his beautiful wife Irina (excellent makeup artist), at Anatomical Doll in Vladivostok, Russia. Feodora has Face 3 and Body 3 of their product line. She has a fully articulated skeleton and can pose in most natural ways that a human can pose. There are 'stops' on the skeleton that prevent her from posing in unnatural ways. This also helps to prevent damage to the silicone.

Feodora is a Russian name meaning "Empress" or "Gift of God" depending on the translation. Verochka is a proper Russian name that I found online. Tychovich is a name that I created. I do not know if there is such a family name.

She is wearing the red Ruffle Dress, the Scroll Cuff Watch, the Goldtone Marquise Ring, and the Heart of the Crusade Pin (for breast cancer awareness), all from Avon. Her necklase and earrings were prvided by Irina and were on her when she arrived. Her hair barrettes are from Conair. Her shoes are the White Stag ballet flats in white from Wal-Mart.

Oleg offered Feodora at a deep discount in the "Guys and Dolls" program. The management at Our Doll Community, an online forum for the life-sized doll hobby, took up a collection to purchase and ship her to one of the members in the New England area. The group presented her to me, free of charge, at a doll meet at the Fin Fur and Feather Bed and Breakfast in Haneyville, Pennsylvania.
