Canadian Doll Parliament

I had the opportunity to attend the weekend Canadian Doll Parliament with Ceej, his lovely wife, and Mahtek (online names). The weather was good for the trips up and down, although we did get some rain showers on Saturday.

Because of difficulties getting dolls across the border, we elected to leave the ladies in the United States. They were a bit put out about that, but we promised to bring them back something nice.

We had a great time at Ceej's. In typical doll-meet fashion, we all gabbed, talked doll, and swapped jokes, and told stories. Our first stop on The Grand Tour was Sandy's Shrine. Sandy was very gracious and showed all of her treasures! Ceej let us see the antique engines that he restores, and even ran a couple of them for us. That was better than a trip to the museum!

We went to the mall on Saturday, where we were able to get some very nice things for Sandy, Mahtek's ladies, and Feodora. Every store that we visited had a sale in progress!

Among the many wonders of the mall was a restaurant that served Poutine, which Mahtek and I had never had before. Poutine is French cut, deep fried potatos (French fries), cheese curds (cottage cheese without the whey), topped with brown gravy. We both enjoyed this dish. Since I do not have a deep fryer, I will look around Toledo to see if I can find this dish when I go out.

Not long after going to the mall, we all went out to dinner. Mrs. Ceej found a lady friend of hers there. They shared stories about cruises and future plans. The gal was from Holland, which reminded me of Victor Borga. (He is from Denmark.)

Feodora is wearing the White Ruffle Top and Skull Scarf. When I first saw the Skull Scarf in the store, I remarked, "This has Davecat written all over it!" I got it to give to Sidore. When I asked Feodora why she was wearing it, she replied, "I just wanted to try it on!" Ever since I introduced her to the music of Jon Bon Jovi, she has been 'a lot more interesting'!

Photo light setup

This lighting setup uses the natural light from a window, two light/umbrella stands, clamp reflectors with 6500k Compact Fluorescent Bulbs, and umbrellas. Since I took this photo as part of this shoot, I thought I may as well stick it in here.

The white tiger is from the Toledo Zoo gift shop.

The footstool is just a cardbaord box covered with a bedsheet. Right about here in the photo shoot, my glasses started to steam up. I could say it was because the air conditioner was not keeping up, but we all know the real reason.

The wooden flowers were bought Sunday at a county fair.

Can you spot the ever-present Pink Ribbon pin?

"What kind of name should I give you?"

The Triple Strand Honey necklace is from Avon.

Ceej and Mrs. Ceej made us feel right at home. Ceej cooked bacon and eggs for our Sunday breakfast. After that we went to a county fair where Ceej got some great signs for Sandy. Mahtek picked up some goodies for his ladies. I got the wooden flowers for Feodora, and an Elephant Ear for myself!

All in all it was an excellent visit! It would have been nice to take the ladies with us, but they were quite pleased with the goodies that we brought back for them! Wopila Tanka (Many Thanks in Lakhota) to Mr. and Mrs Ceej for their generous hospitality!

Feodora Verochka Tychovich is a life-sized platinum-cured silicone rubber doll. She was produced by Oleg Bratkov (a gifted sculptor) and his beautiful wife Irina (excellent makeup artist), at Anatomical Doll in Vladivostok, Russia. Feodora has Face 3 and Body 3 of their product line. She has a fully articulated skeleton and can pose in most natural ways that a human can pose. There are 'stops' on the skeleton that prevent her from posing in unnatural ways. This also helps to prevent damage to the silicone.
