 Do you live in Southwest Ohio? Like good acoustic music and enjoy a country setting? Windy Hill Farm hosts a Fall music festival just for you! The 2012 Farm Fest will be held on October 6th & 7th. (I am asking you to pray for warmth and no rain!) It is always a great day of music and friends. Come and see us, we'll be there rain or shine- folk, country, bluegrass, and gospel music at it's finest! Yes, that is right, two days this year! Saturday is bluegrass and some country and folk,Sunday is all gospel. And really good food again this year, at a reasonable price, provided by the Laura Lions Club. Overlooking the Stillwater River, we have hayrides, 4-wheeling, hiking, bicycling, fishing, bonfires, camping, and much more. It is also the home of several woodpecker types, including piliated, which are LARGE! That's where it gets the nickname "Peckerwood Farm." Also foxes, turkeys, deer, rabbits, squirrels, chipmunks, owls, and numerous other bird varieties. FamilyWindy Hill Farm is owned by Jerry & Ann Acton- and soon by Mark, Deb, Chad, and Brittany Acton. Though no longer a "working" farm, it still takes a lot of work! Tree trimming, mowing, clearing paths, mowing, cutting firewood, mowing, etc. all take time and work!! And then there's the mowing... All while doing major work on the house! Farm Fest 2010The 2011 Farm Fest was held on October 1st; gates opened at 8:00am, music began at 9:30- sort of. That was just me checking sound! Bands who played: Terry Penkal, Rum River Blend, Rock Island Plow Company, C&M Bluegrass, and others. Even with the rain and cold ALL BANDS SHOWED UP- and STAYED! Then we "jammed" awhile.
