    General Fitness

    Like yours, my world is ever changing and ever more complex. In contrast, the value of maintaining good health is both unchanging and simple. Remaining healthy is a key goal in my life because it allows me to participate in types of physical activities previously thought only for the young. I invest in my health by actively participating in Joe Sparks yoga, pose, and joint mobility programs. Joe Sparks is a picture of health due largely to his lifestyle approach. His methods are proven, fun, and effective. I take the time to invest in myself because the rewards are truly priceless, not only for me but for my family and friends as well.

He knows massage but he also knows how to help people deal with the feelings that are often just on the edge of consciousness when strong hands loosen the emotional and physical knots we carry around in our bodies. He knows how to teach Yoga, running, and strength conditioning but he also knows how to make exercising, stretching, and body building fun because these are so integral a part of his life. He knows how to teach a nine year old girl to be a record setting runner and a sixty year old "couch potato" to see himself or herself as an athlete. Joe Sparks knows human bodies and I can think of no one better to learn from.

    Pose Method of Running

    At 57, I am trying to get back into running after a break of several years. However my joints told me that maybe jogging may not be good to continue as I get older, but I enjoyed jogging more than any other exercise. Then I heard about Pose running. Pose has significantly reduced the shock on my joints while at the same time increased my running pace with the same effort. I am convinced that Pose is the correct method for a lifetime of running and Joe does an excellent job of teaching Pose.

    With Joe's excellent guidance, I transformed my awkward, deliberate running style to the efficient, flowing Pose Method. My hip pain has completely vanished and I will never have shin splints again. Two years ago (pre-Pose) I ran 30 minute 5K - today I'm flirting with 25 minutes.

    Yoga

    Joe Sparks, LMT, is a real professional. I have taken several yoga classes and go once a month for a (by my choice) vigorous, therapeutic massage. Joe in yoga class encourages/instructs each person on an individual basis. He is constantly improving his already great skills.

    Great YOGA experience ! I never liked YOGA much, but this is a weekly class I truly look forward to. I have been with Joe for 9 months now and continue right through biking season. It is a reminder to me to stretch, which I never thought too much about before. This is so important in whatever sport you are in. Stretching can prevent many injuries. This importance is so instilled in us (by Joe) that I find myself stretching (and doing other moves we have learned in class) at work, while waiting in line at the grocery store and even sitting in a traffic jam !) Keeping and increasing your flexibility is vital!

    My first exposure to yoga was at Joe’s class. He incorporates all of the healthy benefits yoga adds to life including explanation and practice in deep breathing, relaxation, balance, flexibility and strength conditioning. He provides all of the necessary equipment such as mats, yoga straps, blocks and bolsters to help modify poses for beginners. His instruction is relaxed, light-hearted and encouraging to anyone that desires to give it a try. I benefited greatly by his teaching and now incorporate yoga stretches and breathing exercises into my regular workouts.

    Massage Therapy

    I've been coming to you forever it seems for a chair massage. I believe that if I didn't go weekly I would be full of knots. If I miss more than 2 weeks I begin to feel the effects of those missed massages. I appreciate the way you listen to where I am most tense and work on that area. It is also such a convenience to have you at Owens Corning. Although I do enjoy coming to your studio for a body massage every once in awhile. Especially to get a hot rock massage.

    I have known Joe now for a number of years as a patient. I have also used his services as a licensed massage therapist. In fact, I have, on a few occasions, enlisted Joe's services for the whole office where he has done half hour upper back and shoulder massages for my staff! Like many dentists, I am prone to upper back and shoulder pain which is primarily muscular in origin. If muscle aches and pains give you trouble from time to time, I can heartily endorse Joe as a very talented resource. He has helped me tremendously with my pain and is always very professional.

    Joe Sparks has done Masso Therapy on me several times. A few times for sports injuries and a few times for relieving stress. I live almost 15 miles from Joe's office and it is worth the drive. I like deep massage and Joe has the strength and techniques to deliver. I have received massages from perhaps 7 or 8 therapists in the past and will rate Joe as number #1 out of them all. I have recommended Joe to several friends and will continue to do so and will enjoy the luxury of his services into the future.
