Biography

...or something like it.

I've decided to delete the quiz and write it up into paragraphs. Well, my name is Leon Chung. I wasn't born with that name, I've actually chose the name "Leon". On the internet, I have a few nickname, so to speak... "FireAllianceNX", "^PuffyFireAllianceNX" and "eL cHiNiTo LoCo". In real life, I've been known as "Big L" or as my friend Amy would put it... "Leeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeonnnnnnnnnnnnnnn". If you haven't figured it out yet, I am male and identifies "Transgender" (MTFTM for those who understands) . Although if you ask me, I will say male to avoid confusion. That is because I was born male and I am still male, and I will be male... I will go over that later in this page, if I feel like it. I was born in Hong Kong on the 15th of November in the year 1982 at 06:25 +7:00GMT. I am Scorpio. I lived in a town called Tuen Mun (map on the Hong Kong link). I was raised in a regular Chinese family. I turned out to be not so regular, although I strive to "fit in". Luckily, trying to fit in didn't lead me to smoking or drug abuse habits, shit, I don't even drink coffee! I am the only child, so I really don't have anyone except for my friends to compare myself to. And my friends at the time were... well... being who they are, they made fun of my weight... and this went on till High School.

Let's talk about schooling. In Hong Kong, I went to the "A.D. & F.D. of Pok Oi Hospital Mrs. Cheng Yam On School" or as our Gym Clothes said "MCYOS". I can't believe I actually found their website... and the school have changed quite a bit. I totally remembered that the school is sky blue on the outside, I might be wrong, but the Auditorium looks the same. The yard changed a bit, because the basketball court now have colors... haha. The place where we line up, looks the same from what I can tell in some of the pictures. I am feeling very nostalgic from looking at these pictures. The school have changed a lot from surfing the website, we never had band class or choral classes... well, we had music, and we sang the school song, and we learned to play the Recorder. I was in class D throughout my time there (First Grade to Fifth). Class D are the people that are... not so smart, or not outstanding... 'cause we're always last on everything. I swear. Nonetheless, I kind of miss it. All I have now is memories and some pictures of the current building. I don't have any pictures from that time.

Anyway, I moved to New York in the middle of 5th Grade because of the take over of HK which was forthcoming in 1997. I went to a school called PS 22. I didn't know schools were numbered in NYC, so I found it weird. I couldn't go to class the first day that I registered to attend that school because they were in the middle of a Standardize Reading Test. So I went the next day. I used to go to school on a school bus, 'cause I didn't know the area and I had to wake up extremely early for the damn bus. Mind you, I went to PM school in Hong Kong (The classes were broken up into AM and PM, AM people had to be in school at 7, PM people, like me, went to school at 12:30 and gets out at 6ish, but I get to sleep in.) So waking up for me is a biotch here because school is from 8 to 3. The most memoriable moments at PS 22 was one, this chick was hitting me to be funny, and I hit her back, the teacher only saw me hit her and I got in trouble. Then the chick laughed at me and well... her name was Carla... Fucking Bitch. :) The other moment was at lunch, I was eating chicken wings and I had my napkin out, unused, and someone wanted mine 'cause they finished using theirs... long story short, I didn't have any napkin. I hate him and will always remember his face, Jason. >:| Still, I made it through. I remember at the Grade Show, we sang some pop songs as a whole grade. We did songs like: "That's What Friends Are For", "Evergreen, Everblue" (not B. Streisand), "Hero" (yes Mariah), "Another Day in Paradise" (I think Phil Collins) and some other great hits. At this point in 6th Grade, I joined the Flushing YMCA Beacon Center at JHS 189.

Junior High School... I went to 189 because, it's the closest school. I joined the AV Squad because a friend of mine was in it. So I joined. I got out of gym and some boring minor classes. Of course I didn't get out of Band. Yes, I was in Band, I played the Oboe, before that, I played the Tenor Sax, but it was too heavy for me. Speaking of band, here's a memorable moment... Victor (asshole) swung me around and threw me on the ground. What the hell was his problem? Not sure. 8th Grade is when I started to slowly... not go to school. I'm not sure why. I also started going on the internet. Maybe I was addicted at the time, but I just hated waking up early. I still do.

Let me skip High School for now.

I went to New York University's School of Social Work (SSW). I was entering as a Transfer Student. I will be a junior, and so I thought. I started at LaGuardia Community College, where I had graduated and earned my AAS in Computer Operations: Network Administration. It's better known to us as "Computer Networking Systems Administration". I graduated with honors with a whooping GPA of 3.86 and am apart of Phi Theta Kappa, Internation Honor Society of the 2 year college. After my first semester at SSW, and having horrible professors (well, it was half and half, 2 good, 2 bad). I've decided that Social Work school is pointless and boring. Having been working with teens and some elderly AND at IT internships, I find it hard to stay in that school. So I went to NYU's School of Continuing and Professional Studies or SCPS for short. I am now majoring in Information Systems Management with a Network Management Concentration. I never thought that I would be doing business crap, but I guess I would have to eventually if I am to ever go up in the corporate ladder to make some money for me and my family.

I now stand 5'5" or if you asked the DMV lady, I'm 5'6".
I don't know how much I weight, nor do I want to know... I just know it's over 210 lbs.
I have black hair, and if you want to see what I look like, jump to my picture gallery.

My hobbies had changed overtime. I used to like to make mixed tapes so I can be cool and listen to music I like. Now, besides making mixed CD's, I actually like to do activist work in the LGBT Community. Did I mention that I'm gay yet? Anyways, there's this place called "The Center" in Manhattan with a youth program called the YES Program aka Youth Enrichment Services. It had led me to many things. Back to my hobbies, I obviously like to do some web design. And lately, I'm on Yahoo! Games a lot.

The YES Program brought me to many things, but before that, I was part of the YMCA.
I was in a program called Leaders Club and I learned a lot from it. I went in, with low self-esteem and very shy. I came out of my shell since then, but what had gotten me really outgoing was the YES Program. The opportunities at the YES Program pushed me further. I am now part of the Youth Pride Chorus (YPC) and a counselor for their Camp program, for LGBTQ people from ages 13-21. Why am I still in this Youth program you ask? Because I haven't aged out yet. I will soon though. Then I guess I have to transition to something more... "Adult". Not that being 21 isn't adult. Just that I won't have this program. YPC is a lot of fun and work, and I guess attention too :D We've recently worked with the great Anthony Rapp, the original Mark from RENT. He's probably tired of people referring him as such, because he's now in Little Shop of Horror and he was in Hedwig and the Angry Inch (not the movie).

I love Broadway, wish I have the money to see all the shows I want. I've seen RENT, Wicked, Hairspray, The Normal Heart, Cabaret, Cats and Avenue Q. I love them all, except for Cats, I'm not really sure what that show's about.

My favorite quote used to be: "The hardest thing is sitting next to someone you love knowing you can't have them" and "You're laughing 'cause I'm different, I"m laughing cause you're all the same".
Now, I'm not sure... probably from RENT: "No day but today" or "Will I wake tomorrow from this nightmare?"

Cabaret, that was a good musical. I remember sitting with Amy wondering if we were sitting with Anthony Rapp and Idina Menzel. That was before I actually met Anthony Rapp.

That's it for now, if there's anything you know about me and you want me to add it here, email me. Or if there are things you want to know, drop me a line as well. "FireAllianceNX at gmail dot com"
