Hibernation: Soil Curtain describes a napping seed's perspective of ground, and the awakening which occurs as the surface breaks for growth. The energy of potential in this moment lends credence to the restorative nature of a seasonal retreat.

Artist's Statement: These works are about connections with places and the continuity of stories. The embellishment and exaggeration that occurs with the passing of time is of particular interest. Manipulated through stitching and printing, the surface of the textile constructions are built in layers. Each layer describes both real and imagined histories, creating links between tales and place. The cyclical process of their construction involves alternately, creating fragments of cloth, composing collections of hand printed and found fabric, and deconstructing these compositions in order to reconstruct the fragments into a new whole.
