Ilvaite crystal.

This very sharp ilvaite is from Elba, Italy.
Ilva was the former name of Elba.
This tiny Tuscan island has both ilvaite and elbaite as its namesake!
This specimen was traded to me for copper crystals by a kind Italian man
whose love is Elba and the many minerals that come from it.
It measures 3 x 2 x 1.5 cm. and is lustrous black. Side view below.
