Galena

This attractive galena is set on pale pink rhodochrosite. (Color of the rhodochrosite is more accurate in the bottom photo, but the top photo shows the crystals better.) Several of the larger crystals reach well over 1 inch across. The faces are nicely striated to highlight the cubic structure, although the crystals are predominantly cubo-octohedral. The size is just over 3 inches tall. The locality is Trepca. Another view follows:
