Leslie at the falls!
Henwallow Falls
The trail is wide and busy. This surprised me as the falls are not all that
spectacular. You start on the Gabe's mountain trail, which begins in the
Cosby campground. There were some interesting cliffs to the left of the trail
(as you go). Mostly hemlock and rhododendron (seem to bloom here in August)
grow along the trail. The falls were quite a tall cascade (I estimate 45
feet) but there was very little volume of water over it. I found an overgrown
cemetery to the left (as you return) about halfway to the falls. This is an
easy trail except for a few hundred feet before the falls, which is almost
easy. Except for the number of visitors, this would be a quaint, romantic
type walk.
