Growing Wild Farm is 14 acres located just south of McMinnville, 2.5 miles off of  99W near Amity.  We purchased the land in the summer of 2006, moving when our young daughter was just 2 months old and Andre was still working full time. We spent the five years prior to this growing our beautiful children, our skills as gardeners, and our strong desire to grow food for our local community.  The land is a beautiful combination of rolling hills and level hilltop, all sloping down to our bottom field that is a winter wetland, home to the migrating ducks and our chorus of frogs.  This mix of dimensions is the perfect fit for our diversified farm vision.  As stewards of these 14 acres, we hope to create a permanent agricultural system that is layered and diverse, similar to that found in nature.  We aim to provide high quality farm products, from annual vegetables and seasonal fruit to natural meats and eggs, as well as the subsequent byproducts of all of this growing--things like wool, honey, and value added products like smoked tomatoes and herbal teas.  We believe that everything in life is integrated, and look at our farm that way as well.  Here at Growing Wild Farm, the animals are just as necessary for the vegetables to grow as the vegetables are for us to grow.

Our farming practices .....

At Growing Wild Farm, our mission is simple--to provide high quality, naturally grown food to our local community.   One of our many visions for this precious world of ours is to help create a truly vibrant local economy, and we see small, local agriculture as a crucial part of this vision.  We strongly believe that there are scores of benefits from eating food grown locally and sustainably.  The food not only tastes better, but is better for you when it is picked to eat and grown without the use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides.  Food farmed using practices that actually build soil structure and encourage a balanced ecosystem help protect our future, as the soil that feeds us and the complex environment surrounding us are intricately tied to our well-being.  By supporting local agriculture, you also decrease our dependence on foreign oil, and increase the strength of your local economy.  Lastly, eating food grown locally helps foster relationships between the grower and the consumer, building strong communities, and connecting the consumer to the cycle of growing and eating.
