. . . . .
Back . . .

Dale said that he won the 1/350 Trumpeter S.S. Jeremiah O'Brien in a raffle, and that it had sat on his shelf for a couple years before deciding to put it together.   Beside any of the rigging, the project was built out of the box.   Dale found the instructions to be basically adequate, and said the kit was not that difficult.   The option to build a full or water line hull was a plus, and was handled well by Trumpeter, however the three-piece deck was difficult to get aligned properly.

The ship was painted with Testors Model Master enamels, and the kit decals were used.   Weathering was accomplished with the application of washes, dry-brushing, and pastels.   Dale said that overall, the kit was pretty good, and he was happy to add it to his 1/350 ship collection, which includes a couple subs, an aircraft carrier, destroyer escort, and an S-boat.
