Medieval Costumes

The wedding party was dressed in medieval costuming, as were several guests. Many guests received their costumes from mail-order catalogues with quality period costumes. Chivalry Sports, Museum Replicas Limited, Moresca, and Past Times are just a few offering clothing, jewelry and weapons.

More creative guests made their own costumes. Sewing patterns are available from Simplicity, Butterick, and McCall's. Costumes for both children and adults can be found in their costume sections.

Here are some things you might already have in your closet that can be used to add to a medieval costume:

  • Boots
  • Poet Shirt
  • Long, plain dress
  • Tights
  • Leggings
  • Plain vest

Local colleges or theater groups may also have costumes they are willing to rent or sell.
