PRU Ten Most Wanted Slasher

A Shape is created through a special ritual known only to the Cult of Arawn. The ritual must be performed on a male child before it is initiated into any other faith. By dedicating the child to Arawn, the Cult guarantees he will become a Shape. The ritual instills a curse in the child that is spontaneous and abrupt. At some point in the child’s life, he will pick up a sharp weapon and attempt to kill all of his family on Samhain, the sacred holiday to Arawn that also happens to be Halloween. If he succeeds, the cult moves on in search of the next Shape. A Guardian, the male leader of the Cult of Arawn, determines which child will be the next Shape. This cycle repeats ad nauseum.

DESCRIPTION

Quote: None. Shapes don't speak.
Stalking Grounds: Halloween parties, festivals, haunted houses, and other Samhain celebrations.
Physical Description: A Shape that receives the curse always displays Arawn’s symbol on some part of his body as a sort of birthmark. This symbol is the ogham rune known as Ngetal. The rune is one straight line with three diagonal lines across it. It is affiliated with the cranberry tree and Arawn in his role as dark lord.
Cravings: The Cult of Arawn practices the ancient tradition of blood sacrifice, as they believe their ancestors practiced. They are dedicated to identifying the Shape and ensuring his activities go unhindered. To the Cult, the Shape has but one mission: to murder his entire family. Should the Shape be unable to complete his sacred mission, it would be the end of civilization as we know it. In the eyes of the law, Shapes are the shepherds of a mass murderer.
Behavior: Part of the role requires the Shape to wear a mask. It is only in this role that the Shape can perform his tasks as a grim reaper for Arawn. However, it should not be presumed that Shapes are mindless killers. Rather, they are smart enough to remove their masks and blend in with other people until the time is right to strike.
Danger: The danger Shapes pose is obvious: they kill their families. The definition of a family and a bloodline is very loose, and given the amount of comingling of bloodlines in America, a Shape could theoretically be busy for decades. As a result, people who never imagined they were related to the Shape may find themselves suddenly stalked by one. It doesn't help that there's an entire cult dedicated to ensuring that the Shape does what he does so well...watch out for cultists lurking in the background to clean up the mess.
Tactics: Shapes are killing machines. The key is to defeating a Shape is to play upon its obsession with its victim. Shapes will often make a bee-line towards their target, heedless of traps or obstacles (including walls!). Smart PRU agents create booby traps to thwart the Shape before he reaches his destination. Unfortunately, Shapes are nearly undetectable until they find their victims, so it requires monitoring of every known blood relative at all times. Arawnite cultists make themselves a nuisance as well and have been known to provide cover for their "avatar." Word of advice: you see a Shape coming, you call for backup.
