Alter Egos are people who take multiple personality disorder to a new level. Instead of just splitting into harmless personalities like Funny Guy and Wax Poetic Guy, they have another personality that is extremely violent. The scary part is that this personality is deeply buried in an otherwise normal person. At least, that’s what everyone says after the slasher stabs dozens of people in the shower.

Physical Description:

The challenge with alter egos is that you never know who you're looking at. Some dress up as members of the opposite sex, while others ARE members of the opposite sex. That is, they're transsexuals. Yeah, we're confused too.

Alter egos like members of the opposite sex. We do too, so sue us.

Behavior:
|
Alter egos tend to muddle by most of the time. It's only during times of stress that things get ugly. Unfortunately, it's very easy to set them off.

Danger:
|
Alter egos are easy enough to deal with once you know who they are...they're human, after all. The challenge is recognizing this breed of slasher as an alter ego. You might never know until it's too late. Still, an alert PRU agent knows to look for the signs. Alter egos tend toward strictly regulated behaviors and rarely deviate from them. A sudden change (say, a sexual proposition) can send them into a rage.

Tactics:

Alter egos have very specific ties to familial abuse. If you have enough information, imitating the voice or appearance of the abuser might momentarily paralyze the alter ego, long enough for you to escape. Whatever you do, don't take a shower around one.
