Personal History

Dark-kin are "tainted" with the touch of the Infernal. Among the people of Onara they are reminders of times best forgotten. Scorned by most people, the dark-kin try to make their way in the world. Some fight against their infernal heritage while others embrace the darkness within.

The physical manifestation of the "taint" can be as overt or as subtle as the player wishes. Some common physical traits include: reddish-hued skin, small horns on the forehead, pronounced incisors, a forked tail (that cannot be used as a weapon), eyes that glow with a malignant light, etc.

Born in Canceri, Sebastian's mother is another Dark-Kin. Kept on the move to protect themselves from both the Sorcerer king thieves and people who shun dark-kin. At the same time however, Sebastian was brought up to respect his magical powers and taught to help others, though doing so often exposed his nature (both as a sorcerer and dark-kin). Sebastian traveled widely after that. At some time in his late teens, during an attack by Harvesters, Sebastian's mother sacrificed herself to help him escape.

Today, Sebastian travels around in his desire to help humanity. He continues to strive to show that it isn't blood (race) that makes the person but their actions. Basically, he helps people in ways the he can and makes sure others aren't taken by Harvesters. Sebasian believes in the overall freedoms of humanity rather than the oppressive rule of an empire.


Quick Reference Notes

UNNATURAL AURA: Animals become uneasy around dark-kin. Dogs will bark and horses become unruly. Dark-kin receive a -4 penalty to Ride checks and a -7 penalty to Handle Animal checks (already calculated).

WICKED STING (Ex): Your tail deas 1d6 piercing damage. Once per day, following a successful attack, you may deliver a dose of poison into the wound. The poison can be resisted with a Fortitude save (DC 10 + 1/2 your level + your Con modifier). It deals 1d4 Strength as primary damage and 2d4 Strength as secondary damage. You are immune to your own poison but not that of others. If you wear heavy armor, the armor check penalty applies to attack rolls made with the tail and prevents the delivery of the poison.
