with added line work and details. I also create seamless repeating patterns in Procreate & Affinity Designer.
Hand Lettering My lettering practice starts with drawing the concept to scale using the elements & principlesof design I learned in college and through my years as a Graphic Designer. The letter forms and art are then
drawn, painted, or digitized and every piece is crafted with care, precision, and lots love.
education & experience
Hand Lettering & Modern Calligraphy typographic studies in college; calligraphy and letteringsince January 2020 including on-line classes, books, and research of traditional calligraphy practices;
professional experience: sales of greeting cards, lettered throw pillows, and commissioned artworks.
Basic CAD Certificate 2016 studies included interior design, architectural design, rendering techniques;professional experience: CAD layout and design for a kitchen cabinet company in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
AAS in Graphic Design 2001 studies included typography, graphic design, art history, Adobe Creative Suite;professional experience: 6 years of full time agency and in-house design in New Mexico and Washington state
plus an additional 4 years as a freelance graphic designer in Colorado & New Mexico.
BFA in Drama Design & Production 1988 studies included set design, scenic painting, costume design;professional experience: design and painting for environments and exhibits in science museums; freelance
design and painting for a theater; and the 2009 cathedral restoration/repaint in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
