What you see in the background here is the Cabot Tower on Signal Hill overlooking St-John's arbour. The Tower was built in 1897 to celebrate 400 years since John Cabot discovered Newfoundland. Signal Hill was the reception point of the first transatlantic wireless signal by Guglielmo Marconi in 1901.
