A STOMPIN' TOM CONNORS tributeThis was a pretty special moment for STomPIERRE in 2005. After having attended Stompin Tom's concert in Hamilton, he was among a few lucky ones to be greeted backstage by Tom after the show. STomPIERRE had brought along his guitar and his current, at the time, other wood instrument. Tom autographed it in his own particular way, which, is in writing first. Then, he threw it on the ground and stomped on it for awhile while the walls seemed to be shaking. Now the best was yet to come. STomPIERRE asked Tom, "Would I be allowed to stomp on this one one more time"? Tom agreed and everyone around, including the band, were having quite a good time as STomPIERRE played, you guessed it, the first verse and chorus of "The Canadian Lumberjack" while Tom sang along to the chorus in French. A special moment indeed. Now this piece of plywood is officially retired with reason. Oh Hey! Il est un gars capable, ce Canadien, ce būcheron. Oh Hey! Il est infatigable, bon travailleur et gailuron, bon travailleur et gailuron. UPDATE!!!!!!!! You can now actually see the above scene on Stompin Tom's new concert DVD. The DVD has already reached "GOLD" certification for sales. Make sure you put your hands on it. |
