2008 George Miller Sr. Memorial Tournament Results

Mid-America Regional Championships

November 14-16, 2008. Bowling Green, Ohio - The 23rd Annual George Miller Sr. Tournament welcomed more than 70 handballers from Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Illinois, California, and Ontario, Canada. A purse of over $3000 was distributed to the winners and finalists in a number of divisions. David Fink from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania defeated 2008 champion Suhn Lee in 2 action-packed games. Lee took home $400 (Open Singles) + $200 for winning Open Doubles with his Lake Forest partner Nikolai Nahorniak. Six colleges and 1 high school were represented.

Over 100 players and guests enjoyed a fabulous banquet at Scrambler's Marie in Perrysburg, cold LaBatt's beer, and door prizes for everyone! Jim Smith won $155 in the 50/50 raffle.

Todd Bargman of Stouffville, Ontario donated a game-worn Toronto Blue Jays jersey. Thanks to Todd's generosity, the auction raised $110 for the Toledo Handball Club.

Great hospitality was provided by the members of the Toledo Handball Club. Special thanks to THC members, Shain and Phil Buerk who graciously opened their restaurant (Scrambler's Marie) for the Saturday evening banquet.
