Oct. 1991:  At the International Association of Jazz Educators (IAJE) convention received 4th level award under “Arts & Young Talent Search”

 

Jan. 1991:  1st place finish (Jazz Category) in National Quest for Excellence Music Contest.  The Quest for Excellence was a music contest sponsored by the Detroit area Dodge dealers and WJR radio station (760 AM) – entrants from the United States and Canada.

 

July 1990:  Attended the Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp which was capped by my involvement in a tour of Europe called the 1990 International American Concert Collage (Dr. George West, Directing). 

 

Awarded Outstanding Musician at the following Jazz Festivals:  Cincinnati, April 1991:  13th Annual Ohio State University, June 1990;  Bowling Green State University, March 1990; and Western Michigan University, 1989.

 

Aug. 1989: Awarded Outstanding Musical Performance in Musicfest USA (Saginaw High School Ensemble).  Listed in the July issue of Downbeat Magazine as an All-Star for the Musicfest Award.
