Draco is a circumpolar
constellation visible all
night from northern latitudes.
The constellation winds around
the little dipper. Its' stars
are not very bright, containing
only three stars above magnitude
3.0. At one time Draco was
quite a bit larger when the
ancient Mesopotamians gave
the dragon large wings which
wound around Ursa Major. The
Greek philosopher Thales lopped
off the wings in the sixth
century BC. Source

Ophiuchus
is a word coming from two
Greek words meaning serpent
and holding - thus Ophiuchus
is the serpent holder
"His
[God's] hand hath formed* the crooked serpent" Job 26:13

12:4 And his tail drew the
third part of the stars
of heaven, and did cast
them to the earth:
*Draco the Dragon comes
alive with fiery breath
from early to mid-October
during Libra! Yes, shooting
stars known as the Draconids
appear to radiate from Draco's
head. Wow! Granted this
is only a minor meteor shower,
but slow, faint, yellow,
fiery meteors really do
radiate from his head!
Peak fire breathing episodes
occur October 8-10 from 9:00
pm-dawn. Begin looking toward
the Big Dipper in the northwest
after sunset.
Meteor - Popularly called
a "shooting star"
or a "falling star,"
a meteor is actually an
object usually ranging from
the size of a dust particle
to a rock that enters Earth's
atmosphere, and is heated
by the friction of air resistance.
Most meteors originate from
comets.

| One of the most famous mythological
creations in the history of
human thought is the horrid
serpentine monster called the
dragon.
The Serpent stands for that
form of the Evil One in which
cunning, artifice, deceit
and malignant subtlety are
its characteristics.
The Dragon represents the
same power armed, defiant
and putting forth its imperial
forms and devastation by force.
The Serpent in the sky is
the creeping deceiver, smoothly
gliding in to betray, insinuating
his poison and destroying
by stealth. The Dragon is
the terrific oppressor, assailing
with teeth and claws, armed
all over with spikes, lifting
spirally wings and tail, spouting
fire and fury and rushing
upon its prey with every vehemence
of malignant energy.
The Serpent
and the Dragon are one and
the same only in different
modes of manifestation. Hence
the Devil is called "the
Dragon, that old Serpent."
Among all nations we find
this terrible image. Jews
and Gentiles, Christians and
heathen, civilized and savage,
the Teutons, Scandinavians
and Celts of Europe as well
as the merits of Asia and
the remotest isles of the
sea alike have it and connect
with it the same family of
ideas. And everywhere the
vanquishing of this monster
is the work of gods, heroes
and saints.
There is nothing in earthly
zoology to serve as the original
for the picture, or to account
for conceptions and ideas
so uniform all the world over.
No man ever saw a dragon,
living or dead, yet all men
talk of the dragon and adopt
it into their religion, heraldry
art and stories. So where
did it come from?
We find in
the primeval constellations
the whole explanation whereas
nothing else can explain it's
origin!
Here is the Serpent in all
forms of manifestation, and
particularly the Dragon, wound
about at least one-half of
the northern sky, his tail
alone extending over the territory
of "the third part
of the stars."
Here is the divine Hero,
armed with bow and arrows,
riding like St. George and
aiming his weapons at the
heart of that Dragon's representative.
Sagittarius
(the Archer)

In all ages this image has
been before the eyes of men
in the primeval astronomy,
pictorially portraying in
the stars the very ideas that
figure so conspicuously in
their myths and traditions.
In the Apocalyptic vision
of the consolation John beheld
a great red Dragon, having
seven heads and ten horns
upon his head and upon his
heads were seven diadems,
whose tail was drawing along
the third of the stars of
the heaven. He stood before
the woman eager to devour
her child as soon as born

Revelation Chapter
12
12:3 And there appeared
another wonder in heaven; and behold
a great red dragon, having seven
heads and ten horns, and seven crowns
upon his heads.
12:4 And his tail
drew the third part of the stars
of heaven, and did cast them to
the earth: and the dragon stood
before the woman which was ready
to be delivered, for to devour her
child as soon as it was born.
12:5 And she brought
forth a man child, who was to rule
all nations with a rod of iron:
and her child was caught up unto
God, and to his throne.
12:6 And the woman
fled into the wilderness, where
she hath a place prepared of God,
that they should feed her there
a thousand two hundred and threescore
days.
12:7 And there was
war in heaven: Michael and his angels
fought against the dragon; and the
dragon fought and his angels, 12:8
And prevailed not; neither was their
place found any more in heaven.
12:9 And the great
dragon was cast out, that old serpent,
called the Devil, and Satan, which
deceiveth the whole world: he was
cast out into the earth, and his
angels were cast out with him.
12:10 And I heard
a loud voice saying in heaven, Now
is come salvation, and strength,
and the kingdom of our God, and
the power of his Christ: for the
accuser of our brethren is cast
down, which accused them before
our God day and night.
12:11 And they overcame
him by the blood of the Lamb, and
by the word of their testimony;
and they loved not their lives unto
the death.
12:12 Therefore rejoice,
ye heavens, and ye that dwell in
them. Woe to the inhibitors of the
earth and of the sea! for the devil
is come down unto you, having great
wrath, because he knoweth that he
hath but a short time.
12:13 And when the
dragon saw that he was cast unto
the earth, he persecuted the woman
which brought forth the man child.
12:14 And to the
woman were given two wings of a
great eagle, that she might fly
into the wilderness, into her place,
where she is nourished for a time,
and times, and half a time, from
the face of the serpent. See On
Wings of Eagles
12:15 And the serpent
cast out of his mouth water as a
flood after the woman, that he might
cause her to be carried away of
the flood.
12:16 And the earth
helped the woman, and the earth
opened her mouth, and swallowed
up the flood which the dragon cast
out of his mouth.
12:17 And the dragon
was wroth with the woman, and went
to make war with the remnant of
her seed, which keep the commandments
of God, and have the testimony of
Jesus Christ.

"Each
of the three great books in
the 12 steps of the heavens
concludes with the same foreshadowing
of Apocalyptic truth. The
same great enemy is referred
to in all these sky pictures
as the Serpent; the Dragon;
"the great dragon, that
old serpent, called the Devil
and Satan" Revelation
12:9.
"This
first book concludes with
the Dragon being cast down
from heaven.

Draco the
dragon cast down
"The
second book concludes with
Cetus, the Sea Monster, Leviathan,
bound.
Cetus the Sea Monster (Leviathan)
"It is of him that King
David sings in
Psalms 74:12-14
"74:12 For God is my
King of old, working salvation
in the midst of the earth.
74:13 Thou didst divide the
sea by thy strength: thou
brakest the heads of the dragons
in the waters. 74:14 Thou
brakest the heads of leviathan
in pieces, and gavest him
to be meat to the people inhabiting
the wilderness.
"The
Third book concludes with
Hydra, the Old Serpent, destroyed.

Hydra, the
Sea Serpent
"At the
close of the first book we
see not merely a dragon, but
the Dragon cast down! This
is the point of this great
star-picture.

"No one
has ever seen a dragon; but
among all nations, especially
China and Japan, and in all
ages, we find the dragon described
and depicted in legend and
in art and worship. Both Old
and New Testaments refer to
it, and all unite in connecting
with it one and the same great
enemy of God and man.
"It is
against the enemy Satan that
Jesus Christ - the Son of
God, goes forth to war. It
is for Satan and those who
fell with him that the eternal
fires were prepared.
"This
is exactly what is foreshadowed
by this constellation of Draco.
Its name is from the Greek
and means trodden on, as in
the Septuagint of Psalms 91:13;"The
dragon shalt thou trample
under feet," from the
Hebrew Dahrach, to
tread.
"In the
Zodiac of Denderah it is shown
as a serpent under the forefeet
of Sagittarius, and is named
Her-fent, which means
the serpent accursed!
"There
are 80 stars in the constellation;
four of the 2nd magnitude,
seven of the 3rd magnitude,
ten of the 4th, etc.
"The
brightest star, in the latter
coils is named Thubam
(Hebrew, the subtle). Some
4,620 years ago it was the
Polar Star.
It is manifest
therefore that the Greeks
could not have invented this
constellation as is confessed
by all modern astronomers.
It is still a very important
star in nautical reckoning,
guiding the commerce of the
seas, and thus "the god
of this world" is represented
as winding in his contortions
round the pole of he world,
as if to indicate his subtle
influence in all worldly affairs.
"The
next star in the head is called
by the Hebrew name Rastaban,
meaning the head of the subtle
(serpent). In the Arabic it
is called Al Waid,
meaning who is to be destroyed.
"The
next star, also in the head,
is called Ethanin,
the long serpent, or dragon.
"The
Hebrew names of other stars,
not identified are Grumian,
the subtle; Giansar, the punished
enemy. Other names in Arabic
are Al Dib, the reptile;
El Athik, the fraudful;
El Asieh, the bowed
down.
"The
combined testimony of every
star, without a single exception
of each constellation, and
the constellations of each
sign, accords with the testimony
of the Word of God concerning
the coming Seed of the woman,
the bruising of His heel,
the crushing of the serpent's
head, "the sufferings
of Christ, and the glory which
should follow."

Conclusion
The children of God
have the sure word of prophecy to
reveal what the future holds, but
unregenerate man cannot understand
the things of God (Romans 8:7) and
so he goes to fortune tellers, mediums,
prognosticators, witches and the
daily horoscope.
The fear men have of
the future is responsible for the
present revival of interest in the
occult. Some say in ages past man
did not have the written word of
God. However this is disputed with
the evidence that "instead of presuming
that human language 'evolved', it
is a fact that "no language has
ever been discovered that is not
grammatically and syntactically
complete. "No language has
ever been found in an early state
of evolution" The most primitive
language allows its speakers to
convey whatever they want to convey
within that society's frame of reference.
Languages change, certainly, but
the do not evolve." (p61)
Paul wrote in Romans
1:18-20 that God revealed to the
ancients all the invisible things,
even His righteous judgment, in
things that are created, partiularly
the heavens. Dr. J. A. Seiss and
E.W. Bullinger both have written
monumental works on this revelation
in the stars.
Balaam, according to all available
evidence, received his knowledge
of God and his prophetic insight
from the stars, which revealed even
the coming of a person of the Godhead
who was to be born of woman.
Balaam prophesied of this glorious
event in Numbers 24:17: "I
shall see Him, but not now: I shall
behold Him, but not nigh: there
shall come a STAR out of Jacob,
and a Sceptre shall rise out of
Israel..." …the classic Targum
(Aramaic interpretation) of Yonatan
ben Uziel, identifies Balaam with
none other than Laban the Aramean,
uncle of Jacob-Israel. See The Star Prophecy

"The base circuit
of the Great Pyramid contains
still a greater wonder.
As our earth has three separate
lengths of years, namely
(1) the solar tropical year,
(2) the sidereal year, and
(3) the anomalistic year,
just so were the baselines
and walls of this Pyramid
constructed, with three
different lengths of circumferences.

For decades, scholars
thought they were airshafts. But
in the 1960s, astronomers found
that they have an astronomical
purpose. It was found that one
of the shafts pointed directly
towards Thuban (the brightest
star in the latter coils of Draco).
Thuban (Hebrew), the subtle.
The other was aimed at the belt
of Orion, which symbolized Osirus.

Alongside the Nile, the Giza pyramids
have been shown to have the same
pattern as the Belt of Orion. Three
of the Nazcan “stars” are more prominent
than the others, and they almost
form a straight line of their own,
although the third is slightly astray.
Their relationship appears to be
the same as the Giza pyramids, imitating
the belt of Orion. Could this be
true? If it were, then perhaps they
are part of a global pattern of
coded messages, warning us of another
flood will come sometime in the
future. Source
