8:00, all you have to do is point and say, "Gimme some  of that". They'll do it! They'll give you anything you see in the display cases. There will be little wedges of goodness, cups, containers, globs and hunks of stuff that you will find extremely agreeable. Sweets beyond sweet. We've done this before, we're speaking from experience. You're going to like this! Go for it. Join us on Thursday September 24th at Good's and enjoy good company while you're enjoying great candies. We have tickets. They're $10 each.

*Thursday, September 10th:  6:30 p.m. Regular dinner meeting at the First Presbyterian Church. 230 W. 9th Street. Speaker will be our own Denny Hodge. He'll demonstrate how to access your new CD. saved us and our fire from being doused. Jackie Hensley (Butch's better half) deserves recognition for all her help including making the aprons worn by the workers. We also want to thank all those who volunteered to help with this project. Steve Warner, George Smith, Sherman Scott, Rebecca Fritchie, Fred Palmer, Betty McIntyre and her friend Jean, Sara Krumme, Larry Robbins, Larry Davenport, Randy Dougherty, Bob Miller, Tom Harrison, Jim Deakyne, Harvey Riedel, Cody Hooker, Ted Wainscott and non-Sertomans, Kathy Stevens, Steve Branch, Kenny Rhode and his friend Kim. These folks and more helped to make this a fun and successful event. If you were there and we've missed your name, we apologize. Thanks also to the First Presbyterian Church for the loan of tables and chairs.
Butch Hensley deserves credit for organizing and executing the plan for our hamburger sale. He is demonstrating his leadership skills.

A note of thanks

To Keith Hartman for stepping up and filling the District Governor office after the passing of Don Miller.

Our fiftieth Anniversary celebration was impacted by Don's untimely passing. We felt the loss but carried on. To Keith and Deborah, Eddie "D" and all the others who took the time to be with us, we say a sincere, "Thank You".

Sertoma Loses      District Governor Don Miller

Sick and Visitation

It was good to see Joe Applegate at the Sertoma board meeting after his bout with pneumonia.

Don Miller was one of the most energetic and dedicated Sertomans in the country. He published a newsletter, weekly. He visited all the clubs in his district, even though he was confined to a wheelchair for the final years of his life. Professionally, he was a banker and tax consultant. Domestically, he was a loving husband to Deloris "Dee" and a father to Denise, Deborah, Duane, David, and Diane.
Don was a good guy. He cared about his family and his friends. Don was scheduled to be at our 50th anniversary celebration and we missed him. Still do…
