Gail Burris Paramount Theater!
On November 10th at our regular meeting, Gail Jones Burris visited our Sertoma Club. Gail is the Executive Director of the Paramount Theater Center. She told us that the theater opened in 1929 and was one of the most ornate , "Spanish Renaissance" buildings in the country at the time. The Grande Page Organ with its seven ranks of pipes was a main attraction of the time. She gave us some background about the refurbishment of the theater that was begun by a group of concerned citizens in 1989. Let's Have a Merry Christmas
We only have one meeting this month. You are encouraged to spend the time with your family and friends at this holiday season. Most of us in the Anderson Sertoma Club celebrate Christmas at this time, but we should keep in our hearts and prayers all those who celebrate Hanukkah or Kwanzaa or any other of the winter festivals that occur around the winter solstice. It is a time to seek peace and extend good will to all. It's a small planet and getting smaller all the time. We need to share more
