The LORD is com-pas-sion-ate and gra-cious,
Slow to an-ger, a-bound-ing in love.
He will not al-ways ac-cuse,
Nor will He har-bor his an-ger for-ev-er.
He does not treat us as our sins de-serve,
Nor re-pay us for all the wrong we've done;
But He paid such a great price:
Giv-ing the life of His own pre-cious Son.
For as high as the hea-vens are a-bove the earth,
So great is His love for those who fear Him;
As far as the east is from the west,
So far has He re-moved our trans-gres-sions from us.
As a father has com-pas-sion on his chil-dren,
So the LORD pi-ties those who fear His name;
For He knows how we are formed,
That we are dust, mere-ly dust of the ground.
As for man, his days are like the prai-rie grass,
And his glo-ry: a flow-er of the field;
Then the wind blows o-ver it and it is gone,
And its place is for-got-ten.
But as high as the hea-vens are a-bove the earth,
So great is His love for those who fear Him;
As far as the east is from the west,
So far has He re-moved our trans-gres-sions from us.
As far as the east is from the west,
So far has He re-moved our trans-gres-sions from us.
