What though I can-not break my chain
Or e'er throw off my load
The things im-pos-si-ble to men
Are pos-si-ble to God.
Who, who shall in thy pres-ence stand,
Or match Om-ni-po-tence;
Un-fold the grasp of thy right hand
And pluck the sin-ner thence?
Faith to be healed I fain would have,
O might it now be given;
Thou canst, Thou canst the sin-ner save,
And make me meet for heaven.
Bound down with twice ten thou-sand ties,
Yet let me hear Thy call;
My soul in con-fi-dence shall rise,
Shall rise and break through all.
Thou canst o'er-come this heart of mine,
Thou wilt vic-tor-ious prove;
For ev-er-last-ing strength is Thine,
And ev-er-last-ing love.
