We Give Thee but Thine Own

We give Thee but Thine own,
What-e'er the gift may be;
All that we have is Thine a-lone,
A trust, O Lord, from Thee.
May we Thy boun-ties thus
As stew-ards true re-ceive,
And glad-ly, as Thou bles-sest us,
To Thee our first-fruits give.
Our hearts are bruised and dead,
And homes are bare and cold,
And lambs for whom the Shep-herd bled
Are stray-ing from the fold.
To com-fort and to bless,
To find a balm for woe,
To tend the lone and fa-ther-less
Is an-gels' work be-low.
The cap-tive to re-lease,
To God the lost to bring,
To teach the way of life and peace--
It is a Christ-like thing.
And we be-lieve Thy Word,
Though dim our faith may be;
What-e'er for Thine we do, O Lord,
We do it un-to Thee.
