Score
O God of grace and right-eous-ness,
Hear and at-tend when I com-plain;
Thou hast en-larged me in dis-tress,
Bow down a gra-cious ear a-gain.
Ye sons of men, in vain ye try
To turn my glo-ry in-to shame;
How long will scof-fers love to lie,
And dare re-proach my Sav-iour's Name?
Know that the Lord di-vides His saints
From all the tribes of men be-side
He hears the cry of pen-i-tents
For the dear sake of Christ who died.
When our o-be-dient hands have done
A thou-sand works of right-eous-ness,
We put our trust in God a-lone,
And glo-ry in His pard-oning grace.
Let the un-think-ing man-y say,
Who will be-stow some earth-ly good?
But, Lord, Thy light and love we pray,
Our souls de-sire this heav-enly food.
Then shall my cheer-ful powers re-joice
At grace and fav-ours so di-vine;
Nor will I change my hap-py choice,
For all their corn, and all their wine.
