This book presents a basic understanding of God, creation, sin and salvation in
a style that is well suited for children. While it doesn't teach the TULIP, it
does deal with issues such as original sin and God's sovereign purpose for our

Tedd takes a very loving and pastoral approach to parenting that is not based
on mere "behavior modification," but on shaping the attitudes that produce the
behavior. The book advocates: the exercise of benevolent authority, a
"shepherding" approach to training (helping children to understand "why" as
well as "what"), keeping the gospel central in parenting and inviting children
