Let the Nations be Glad!
The Supremacy of God in Missions
John Piper
Contemporary

"... worship is ... the fuel of missions. Passion for God in worship precedes the offer of God in preaching. You can't commend what you don't cherish. Missionaries will never call out, 'Let the nations be glad!, who cannot say from the heart, "I rejoice in the Lord ... I will be glad and exult in thee, I will sing praise to thy name, O Most High' ... Missions begins and ends in worship." (You will have to get the book to read the rest).

Today's Gospel: Authentic or Synthetic?
Walt Chantry
Contemporary

Chantry examines our Lord's encounter with the rich young ruler as a pattern for evangelism, and finds that modern evangelistic methods do not fit the pattern. Chantry shows that true evangelism proclaims God's character, God's law, repentance toward God and faith toward Christ. He also examines the subjects of assurance of salvation and of preaching with dependence upon God.

Missionary Methods: Saint Paul's or Ours?
Roland Allen
1868-1947

What better model for missions than that of the apostle Paul? Allen contrasts modern missionary methods with those used by Paul, and calls us back to the Pauline model. Allen was an Anglican missionary to China from 1895 to 1903, and spent much of the remainder of his life writing on missionary principles.
