My thanks and gratitude to the Evergreen Residents who placed their trust in voting for me!

I wish to take this opportunity to thank the more than 7,700 Evergreen resident voters, campaign supporters, and friends who put their vote and trust in my abilities for Evergreen School Board director.  I congratulate the incumbent and district administration in their victory and I hope that our school district genuinely puts the education of our students, and the best interests of the parents and residents as the new top priority in improving our district's public educational system.

It is important for all of us to remember that even though the election phase is over, the job still remains to get done.  All of us have a responsibility  and diligence to make sure our elected school officials follow through on their expressed commitments to voters, taxpayers, and the Evergreen district residents.  In doing so, I offer the following challenges to our newly elected school board members:

  • Get our students back in school for a full 180 days as required by the state.
  • Reverse the across the board drop in WASL scores, revisit and correct school improvement plans, and provide more rapid and sustained improvement in state and federal student educational assessments.
  • Evergreen School District cannot continue to allow nearly half of all students graduate without meeting the state Math standards and should provide more math teachers at earlier grade levels.
  • Significantly improve open and honest communication between administration, teachers, parents, and students by initially enriching access to our public information.
  • Ensure issues and concerns brought by parents, residents, and students are fully addressed and responded to until closure.
  • Provide more accountability and transparency in accurate, complete, and timely information about district finances and programs from our school administration without surprises - good and bad news.

Best wishes to all in the coming school years,
