Going nude is something that I've always practiced in private since I was young. Behind closed doors, I've frequently stripped, relaxed, and slept in the nude whenever I could. But until recently, I was what one might term a "closet nude." My brother Max Thames has been more forthcoming with his practice of nudity. In my recent associations with him, I've felt encouraged to be more public about my beliefs concerning nudity.
It is not, however, the purpose of this page to advocate Nudity, or "clothing-optionality." I think this other web page does a better job of that.
These web pages are just a small celebration my own "coming out" as an active nude and express my personal support for a cultural change in the prevailing American attitude toward the practice.
My brother Max Thames is more open in his practice of nudity. Yet, even today, it is sometimes difficult to get people to realize that Nudity is not an invitation to sexual activity.
The picture to the left was taken in 1995. Max had previously been living in Northern Michigan. In the winter months, he found it especially invigorating to soak in the hot tub for a while, then jump out and roll around in the snow. My own preference is to sit in a sauna instead of a hot tub.
