**Priests are only available if using optional rule #18. A stand of priests move 4" [6"] per turn (as wagon).
Troop ratios-- Infantry stands must outnumber mounted cavalry stands by at least 3 to 1. Heavy Inf. are long spear armed. Middle Heavy Inf. are 1/2 Long Spear and 1/2 pilum (javelin) armed. Late Heavy Inf. are (4) pilum (javelin) to (1) Long Spear.
Heavy Cavalry Shields are not optional.
Troop Description--Allied forces are Gallic, Italian Umbrians, or Samnites.
*I wrote Bob Bryant, and he disagreed with the heavy
cavalry for the Etruscans. The only reason the HC is there is that the Ral Partha Historicals have an Etruscan Heavy Cavalryman, therefore these troops are optional.
I courteously and completely have to disagree with the idea that the Etruscans can be dismissed because "we don't know enough". I went to one (1) website and found 30 entries for Etruscans. Boss's article was written from 7 references.
I think at this point its a pro-Roman bias, and sources in Italian that
have made for a lack of wargaming interest in Etruscans, not a lack of knowledge.

The list (with out any upgrades or unit/leader points) amounts to 1,330 pts. (245 pts. for minium amount of stands). I have not listed any units as Elite (I feel they would lack any of that kind of military training). Note I have given the non gaul/german troops a decent B or C morale class. I feel this is about right considering the willingness of the troops to fight to the death. I have been tempted to add an upgrade to the Sub-Heavy Inf. to make a portaion of them morale class "B".
I have added to the number of Med. Cav slightly in order to make them a bit more useful. All the other proportions are as correct as I can get.
Bob Bryant's Comments
"So, about the Spartican Army Revolt List. I have read only a brief account of the revolt, but based on that, the list seems accurate. At first I thought the bulk of the slaves should probably be D morale instead of C because of a lack of training and cohesiveness. They have not been together very long and would lack even the tribal culture and experience in fighting together that Gauls, for example, might have. On the other hand, they could be credited with above-average resolution to stand and fight, born of desperation and zeal. So these two factors neutralize each other, leaving an average C class. It's a judgement call."
"The army would be challenging to use. It has the serious weakness of no
substantial close-order infantry and not enough cavalry to do anything
with, plus no troops such as masses of bow infantry or light cavalry
that could compensate. What it has is lots of cheap (in purchase
points), weak infantry. It is basically a Gallic army without the
cavalry. On average, it cannot hope to beat its historical Roman
opponent in open ground in a single line face-to-face. It would need to
go for envelopment of the flanks, try to delay contact, use rough
terrain when it can, try strategems to prevent the Romans from using
their best tactic, which is the quickest possible advance to contact.
This is where a creative player who likes maneuver might find the army
fun to play."
