The Island of Mull
Mull was rather out of the way -- it's a small island and when we mentioned to people that we were going there they usually gave
us an odd look and asked why! It was definitely quiet and rather cold -- we stayed in sort of a grand tent. But the scenery was
pretty and after our time in Edinburgh we were glad for a little peace and quiet.

| We'll begin with the castles of Mull. On the left is Torosay Castle which we reached on the tiniest train. We enjoyed tea and scones on the back porch depite a chilly day. On the right is a view across the water of Duart Castle which looked impressive but which we didn't have time to go properly visit. |

| The
tiniest train! Don't worry, that man didn't push it all the way to the
castle and there actually were train cars -- this was just the turning-around
process that the train went through at the end of its run. |
Just
as we were thinking that we'd love a place to stop an email our friends
while on Mull, we looked up and saw this sign. It's made more amusing
by the fact that my great-grandma who grew up in Scotland was a MacGregor. |
