Paris Continued

We also walked along the Champs-Elysees framed on one side by the Arc de Triomphe (above) and on the other side by the Louvre.

On your way down the Champs, before you come to the Tuileries Gardens which lead to the Louvre, you go through the Place de la Concorde -- the largest place in Paris and the home of the Egyptian Obelisk.
That evening, tired from a long day of walking in the heat, we went to sit under the Eiffel tower (with newly reinstalled lights) where we drank beer and watched people play boule. It was really pretty and relaxing -- probably the best part of the Paris trip.
On our last morning in Paris we decided to descend to the catacombs. The number of bones down there is incredible -- all of those round things in the walls are skulls and they are stacked several feet deep behind the visible surface.
