Paris

Matt and Kris and I spent a whirlwind couple of days in Paris -- we had an afternoon, one whole day,

and a morning to try to take it all in. I had been to Paris before so I have to admit I dragged them rapidly

from one site to the next. It felt a little bit rushed but I think we all enjoyed the second evening and the last morning.

We began our Paris tour at the Louvre. For anyone who hasn't gone, the entrance to the museum is through this glass pyramid and then the art is all housed in the palace that surrounds the pyramid on three sides. It's enormous and overwhelming if you don't go in with a plan for what you want to see. We managed to see a lot, but we came out pretty tired.

We then spent the rest of the evening wandering around the Ile-de-la-Cite where Notre Dame (pictured above from the back) is located.
The next day we revisited Notre Dame in the light so we could go inside.
We also visited Sacre Coeur (one of my favorite places in Paris) which is a basilica that sits high atop a hill, overlooking the city. It is surrounded by Montmartre.
