Tuition

Fees are considered tuition and are payable on a monthly basis in advance. Tuition for the next month is due on the last lesson of the current month.

New students first payment will be prorated for the number of weeks/lessons remaining in their starting month.

Acceptable forms of payment are cash or personal check. We are currently unable to accept credit cards or debit cards.

The current tuition rate is $25/half-hour.

Cancellations and make-up lessons

Cancellations can be made with no forfeiture of payment only if the following conditions are met:

1. The instructor (me) is given at least 24 hours advance notice

2. the student doesn't exceed three cancellations in any calendar quarter
   a. If a student misses a fourth lesson in a calendar quarter, the student must either schedule a make-up lesson, or else forfeit the payment for that lesson.

3. Any student who misses more than four lessons in a calendar quarter may be dropped by the instructor. Any unused lesson fees already paid to the instructor will be returned to the student, except for fees forfeited in 2a above.

Make-up lessons can be scheduled for any missed lessons without forfeiture, provided the student and instructor can find an agreeable time. The instructor has specific time set aside for make-up lessons. Make up lessons are only required for students who have missed three lessons in a calendar quarter.

Lessons can be canceled by the instructor at any time, with full credit given to students for instructor cancellations. Exceptions to the above conditions may be made at the sole discretion of the instructor.

Suggestions for new students

Be on time! Better yet, be a little early. Lessons begin and end ON TIME in order to be fair to all students. Keep your lesson handouts, music, etc. in a folder or notebook, and bring them to every lesson.

Keep a spare set of strings on hand in case of breakage! Nothing halts progress faster than a broken string. Change your strings often, and always have a spare set!
