Return To "An Episcopal Poet")
Anchored within the creative Love of God, To Him I respond with prayer: In adoration, the treasure So warm to His heart, And praise for my life So wondrously conceived; Joyously thanking Him for sustaining my life Within His gracious purpose; And sorrowing in humility I confess with shame my falling short Of attaining to His holy estate. Through interceding for many... to share in His gift of abundant living, I lay upon Him my longing for a richer life, And for fulfillment of my hopes and dreams. My thoughts of Him are prayers, And I reflect upon His wonders in nature, And upon His purpose for creation and my living, While His movements are both clear and perplexing. In nearing Him I to myself am true, As He knows my depth feelings And loves me as I am. I urge upon Him, I vent upon Him, I lay upon Him My frustrations, predicaments and sorrows, Along with my joys, sharings and loving longings. Thereby, I sense His presence In the wonders and mysteries of heaven and earth; In my growth in love for God and humanity And in the unfolding of my life, By chance or reason, I am comforted with peace of mind, Strength for living, And being forgiven; And that by having Him alone, My life is complete.
