In the summer of '95 Dave traveled to Japan to participate in a six-week Japanese language program. He stayed in the Tokyo area, visited many famous landmarks, and met a bunch of people from California.
The following February Dave was fortunate enough to return to Japan for six months (along with about 12 others from North Carolina State University) to participate in the first ever NUPACE program at Nagoya University. During this six-month stay he flew to Thailand with two good pals, was honored with a two-week visit by Ku, and befriended an Englishman and a crazy Egyptian.
