RAVES !!!
11-21-07 (Sophie from Greta's 3rd litter)

Hi Wendy

Wanted to send you an update on little
Sophie.  She is doing great, has slept through the night wonderfully since the first night we brought her home.  She is doing very well with her training.  At 10 weeks she was able to do the following:

GIVE ME FIVE
SIT
DOWN
Knows the words INSIDE, OUTSIDE, CRATE, DROP IT, LEAVE IT, GO POTTY

She is starting to ring the bell before going outside.  She is very smart and has figured out that if she rings the bell she will get one of us to get up and do something for her!  I was on the phone the other day and she was ringing the bell like crazy even though she had just gone outside to go potty.

We are enjoying her so much.  Ryan just loves her as you can see by the pictures.  She has been pretty tolerant of him but has growled a couple of times to let him know she has had enough.  He's pretty gentle with her but likes to pick her up and carry her which we are trying to limit.   She loves to be outside and run like crazy, she always brings a leaf up to the door with her before coming inside =)

All of the information you provided us when we brought her home as well as during our visits to your home have been invaluable.  It has really given us a good start with her and has allowed us to enjoy her even more.

I'm sorry for not sending pictures sooner.  Jeff just had knee surgery and between Jeff, Ryan and Sophie I've been unable to get upstairs and keep up on my emails!!

Hope you are doing well and have a wonderful Thanksgiving.  Will send more
pictures soon.

11-22-07 (Jimmy from Tessa's 2nd litter)

Hi Wendy

Thought I would drop you a line and let you know how your sweet boy
Jimmy is doing.

So far, Jimmy seems to have the perfect temperament for our family. He is fun, energetic, incredibly smart and always gentle. He has learned to sit, "get busy" outside and is very calm and accepting of his crate.  When he comes into the house, he sits at the back door and then when asked, comes in and sits on his mat until he is released. What a star!

Today was an especially exciting day because he turned on the little electronic drum at the back door to go outside...a first.  We were in total disbelief the first time but he has repeated the behaviour a number of times tonight as well.

He is a lovely boy. The kids are loving him and they both have been fantastic with his training.  Lauren is such an expert, she teaches and "corrects" everyone who visits.

Thank you for this new adventure in our lives.

Love

2-13-08 (Belle & Gracie  from Greta's 3rd litter)

Hi Wendy

As you can see by the subject of this email, we are really taken with our
Gracie.  With all the snow we have had this year, we put off leash training our dogs.  Saturday, we put a collar on Gracie, hooked up the leash and she walked like she had been doing it for years.  Yesterday we took her for a walk on a walking path in our subdivision - she was absolutely amazing!
She didn't pull on the leash at all, just walked beside us like she knew exactly what to do.   Rick also cut off her wild hair Saturday.  He left all her tight curls - just cut off the "moss".  She was so good for him.  Thank you so much for getting the pups used to clippers.  He didn't have any problems with her at all.  The groomer we took
Belle to said the same thing.  She was surprised that Belle was so good for her first grooming.  Regarding Belle and the leash - we are going to have to work with her.
Here is one picture of the girls on their snow mountain.  It's getting pretty warm so it will melt soon.  They love their yard!
Later -

7-09-08 (Lily from Tessa's 2nd litter)

Hi Wendy

My last update did not have a picture so I thought you'd enjoy this one,
Lily is doing so great.
She has turned into the perfect little girl, she is still very tiny maybe just pushing 7lbs but she is FAST, she can out run both boys and every dog at the dog park.  She likes to play fetch a lot and if a larger dog is playing she waits until it takes off for the ball chases them down and then turns quick enough to beat them back - never once worrying about the toy

She has so much energy.  Since the weather has been nice we have been walking about 2 miles a night and she keeps right up and would go longer if she could.  She was also perfect for the 4th of July, not scared one bit.  I was worried but she never even flinched at the noises.  She is completely trained in everything and is such a good girl.  My parents watch her for about 2 weeks while I was moving and Lily had a blast, they have about 5 acres.  But, my parents did not want to let her go and have been calling to check on their "grandpuppy" ever since.  I was super happy to be settled again and have her home

We hope you are well, we moved over to Lake Stevens but still hope to one day come by!  Thank you so much for my little best friend

8-11-2008 (Benji from Tessa's 2nd litter)

Dear Wendy,

Here are the latest pixs of
Benji.  It was fun talking & bragging to you.  We really love him so much, he brings us so much joy.  We owe it all to you.

He is a jumping, digging, running fool.  Still full of energy.  If I take him for a 1 1/2 hr. walk in the sun, up & down hills, he might nap for an hour & then he is ready to go.  That is why I am thinking of a companion, I am too lazy.... So if you hear of anything I would really appreciate your letting me know.  The other issue is 2 old cats, which limits my choices only with dad's allergies.

Thanks,
Marcy
9-4-08 (Sophie from Greta's 3rd litter)
Hi Wendy
How are you?  I see you are expecting another litter soon.  I will keep checking your website to see pictures of the newborns.  I still talk about what a neat experience it was for me and our whole family to have seen
Sophie and the other pups at such a young age and to see them change and grow..  Nothing sweeter than a puppy or a baby.

Sophie is a great dog we all love her and can't imagine life without her. She is a real cuddler, smothers Ryan with kisses every morning and loves to be wherever we are.  She graduated to sleeping on our bed over the summer (we knew it was only a matter of time!).   She sometimes ends up between us with her head on the pillow!  One night I put a fleece blanket down at the bottom of the bed for her to sleep on and she grabbed the corner and pulled the blanket right up to the head of the bed between Jeff and I, it was too
funny!    She likes to pull Ryan's socks off when he and Jeff are wrestling, also pretty funny.   She loves her toys, playing with other dogs, kids or anyone who will run around with her.

Here is a birthday picture for you!  We'll take some more pictures after her next haircut for you.  She is in need of a bath and haircut right now!
We hope all is well and you are enjoying this beautiful weather!

10-3-08 (Jimmy from Tessa's 2nd litter)
Hi Wendy

We hope all is well with both of you.  Time has been racing by and sweet Jimmy has grown into a fine young man. I have been remiss in sending you updates, but you must know, our raves for both of you have been constant.
Jimmy is fantastic.  He is smart, so lovable and incredibly patient.  I have lost count of the number of times he has been dressed up, lugged around and made to play "Barbie" by Lauren.  He is a star.   Thank you both for your dedication to raising well adjusted puppies.

Oct 22 2008 (Gino from Tessa's 1st litter)
Wendy

Congratulations on Tessa's latest litter. They are adorable.  Now the work begins. Hope all is well. It was great getting to see to at our Business. Wish I had more time, but when I do, I'll call and come for a visit.  Kiss the pups for us.

Gino is really having fun with our daughter Rachel's little dog. He and her are inseparable. He has a pal. They really enjoy the walks on the beach.  Gino does very well on leash and with another dog we just love him.  He has brought us so much joy and love. Thanks for the great job you both do nurturing these little guys. Again, hope to see you soon.

3-8-2009   (Mango from Tessa's 3rd litter)
Wendy

Mango is turning out to be such a precious companion!  In his puppy classes he's a little shy, but I've been working hard on getting him out on his leash for walks, and he's becoming more confident as he struts around the neighborhood.

I think we all feel like we're the most special when we come in through the door, as Mango will just leap a pole vault worth in celebration dancing.  But I think what Tony and I find most endearing, as once things have settled down, and we pick him up, he will put his paws around your neck and it's like he's hugging you.  It's one of those "Awwwwwww" moments.

I'm sorry to say I've defied all your advice, and he is only in his crate maybe about 3 hours a week.  He's so much a part of the family that no one wants to shut the door to his box.  More often than not, if we're leaving the house for a little while, we take him up the street to Grandma's.  His best friends, Sugar and Buddy (Mom's dogs) are there.  Mom's got those lovely doggie doors that he is so in control of.  Just comes in and out like he pleases.  Has NEVER had an accident over there.  As a matter of fact, it's been a long time since he's had one here.

Mango's always trying to get our cats to play.  They are not amused.  Our youngest cat, Juggernaut, can hold her own, and they seem to have a healthy tension between them.  Jenny, our 16-year-old cat, has really come to that time in her life where she doesn't want to run.  I think it's funny how he tries so hard to sell his friendship to her, and she quite frankly is not buying much, but a good nap.

This is a photo from this evening.  Wish I had brushed his tail.  It's really fluffier than it looks, but he seemed to be growing weary of the camera flash.

Can't wait till spring, when I get his fur clipped.  You'll be able to see that orange stripe coming in on his back.  His hair is so beautiful.  With the dark underneath, and the lighter beige on top, he's got an appearance that he glows.  ha ha

Can't wait to see photos of the new puppies growing.  Do you know how many Greta will have?  When is she due?  Keep us informed.

5-17-09 (Chip from Greta's 5th litter)
Hello Wendy

I should have called
Chip - Miracle.  He is amazing and it's all you doing.  The transition has been so much easier than I imagined.  He has slept through the night both nights 8 hours!!!!  He is so easy and his puppiness is hardly noticeable.  He comes when called, consistently and he now can sit with treats.  He is my little shadow.  He and the cats are adjusting nicely, he has helped himself to the kitty roca a couple of times.  I thought I'd at least need the puppy time sheet for a couple of days, but he is so easy that it hasn't been needed. His chewing is easily managed because he has so many things he can chew on. He's napping right now and when he wakes up it will be outside for his business and play.  You know the routine.

I just thank you for helping him become well adjusted.  I don't foresee any drastic changes in his demeanor and he will only become better well adjusted as he grows up. He's just so fun and pleasant.  I've never had a puppy that is so delightful from the start.

Thank you,  Oh, and about pictures, well, when he is still enough I'll get one!!

12-5-09 - (Lupin from Tessa's 4th litter)
Hi Wendy,

Just wanted to let you know what a great boy
Lupin is. He was very happy in the car on the drive back to Tacoma and had neither tears nor accidents. The kennel between the kids' seats seems to suit him well, and Maya explained all about Harry Potter to him as we drove along [today I had them singing to him - he seemed to appreciate that
.
He has taken to our home and back yard with aplomb. He has already mastered the stairs to the yard (both up and down) courtesy of liver treats. He has been fairly good about "getting busy" and he seems very comfortable in his new home. Our friend Deborah was quite enchanted by him (I think she was unsure if we would make a good choice without her guidance, but we surprised her) and deemed him easy to train.

He slept very well last night, although he did wake a little early but then went back to bed after a quick trip outside. Today he has done well although I think we should get better about recording his schedule - there have been a couple of small accidents but he has been happy and has loved playing with us all. We are training Hugo to be gentler, and Maya is being very bold and is taking to him better than we had hoped.

The vet gave him a look over and pronounced him a fine specimen, and we dewormed him today. He's scheduled for his next shots on the 14th.

Overall, I can't believe he's been here only 30 hours or so. He has fit in very well and seems very comfortable here. When I think of the adjustment he has had to make it is remarkable.

Thanks so much to you and Vivian for all the work you have done with him and for the extra training you gave him in the last week.

2-28-2010-(Stella from Tessa's 3rd litter)
Wendy
Greetings and congrats on the arrival of
Stella's nephews.  What a handsome crew, we are so excited!  I do have someone who is most interested and hopefully she will be calling.

Stella is our darling.  She has grown up to be such a sweet dog.   Everyone comments on her disposition and the fact that she isn't 'yappy' and 'hyper'  We just had a houseful of people over the weekend and she went from lap to lap loving to snuggle up.  She keeps an ever-vigilant eye out for me though and is my little shadow.  She dearly loves to go for car rides.  She will twirl around and good 10 times when she hears the jingle of the car keys, hilarious.  She also loves going for neighborhood walks.  When it is time for her to go out, she will come up and tap us or the chair we are sitting in, ever so gently with her paw, we know it is time, how cute is that?  By the way, she is 19.5 lbs.

We don't have occasion to head up to Everett, but you are welcome to come down here any time for a visit.  We would love that!

Sincerely,
Tricia

3-3-2010 - (Zoey from Tessa's 1st litter)
Hi Wendy

It has been way too long since we sent you an update on our beloved
Zoey Shifrin.  Today seems like the right time to say hello from all of us and to once again thank you for the gift of our puppy.

You see, today Zoey is 3 years old!  Wow, where has the time gone?  She continues to be very playful and is smart as ever. Her understanding of words is amazing.  You tell her to get a particular toy; she brings it.  You tell her to give kisses to someone in particular she does it.

Zoey follows Sari all over the house, stood vigil while Terri was suffering with a 4-day migraine headache sleeping with her and giving loving kisses, adores the coy pond and helps Frank in the vegetable garden.
Yes, she is the light of our entire families lives.  Everywhere we go, Zoey is loved.  Not only is she beautiful, but very sweet and gentle.  Zoey loves her outings with us and adores going "bye-bye" in the car. We have been thinking of you all and keep tabs on the new liters just in case Zoey needs a friend!

Hope all is well with you both.

Fondly,

Terri, Sari, Zoey and Frank - Palo Alto, CA
5-14-2010 (Teddy from Rosie's 1st litter)
Hi Wendy

First of all
Teddy is a DREAM DOG!  He is the best dog ever.
So smart and a cuddly boy and a wonderful addition to our family.
He is meeting many new people and friendly, nice (safe) dogs and
handling all of his new situations with aplomb.  He LOVES to be with our family.
He continues to be a good eater and pooper.  He is close to 8 pounds now, and I'm sure if we were feeding him as much as he wants he would be 15 pounds.
Paris and Ed and I have a game we play with him outside where he races from one end of the yard to the other as we call him (we have a big yard with lots of trees and we hide in different spots) and, Teddy may be laid-back, but he can move like a racer when he wants to.  He's only had 3 or 4 accidents since we've been home, and that's because we weren't paying attention, and he's been accident free for at least 5 or 6 days now.

I will send some photos as soon as I get them uploaded to the computer. . .
(I'm not very good about getting them transferred.)

Thanks,
Kristen, Ed and Paris
10-11- 2010 (Colette from Rosie's 2nd litter) & (Charlie from Gretta's 3rd litter)
Wendy
What a good girl (
Colette). Going potty outside and responding to no's.  It's been less than 24 hrs since we've taken her home but she seems to have made a nice balance for our family.  We're all entertained and I like that!   Slept all night long and didn't make a peep. She and Charlie play.  He growled and scared her when she was chewing on his tail bugging him when he was eating.  He must have felt bad because after he was done eating he sniffed her ear and brushed his nose on her face- I think he was telling her not to be scared. I hope it continues to be smooth and I'll keep you posted.

7-09- 2010 (Henry from Rosie's 1st litter)
Wendy
Henry is just a doll baby.  A perfect addition to our family.  He is soooo smart and kind and cute. Couldn't ask for a better dog.  You can be very proud of your offspring!  We stopped obedience classes because the other dogs were so unruly and Henry just looked at them in horror.  He was trained so easily.  It doesn't take much.  We will show him off when you come for a visit.
Take care and keep cool.
Regards,
Rita
12-09-2011 (Rudy from Rosie's 3rd litter)
Hi Wendy
We love
Rudy!! He is so smart and perky! Can't believe how he sits on command, potties on command, and has such a cute pesonality! He's already met friends and family - everyone is impressed by what a social puppy he is. My parents bought him a dog bed that he cuddles into and goes right to sleep - Andrew had a fleece blanket as a baby that had the same effect on him! Peggy gave us her extra dog crate - what a wonderful gift! He goes gaga over the sweet potato snacks. He's not too sure of the frosted backyard - he wants to run around but I think he thinks it's too cold! He also likes to sing with Marty - or maybe it's his way of howling - we're not sure :-) Thank you for the picture - it turned out great!
We are so impressed with the incredible job you did training him - what a joy he is. We will keep you posted on his growth and how things go. Natalie has a class assignment to write two letters, so she will soon be sending one your way.
Thank you again for the picture, the wonderful puppy and all of the great info you sent with us.
We'll be in touch soon!
