Captain Ron's List
This page is intended to be my list of preferred vendors and web sites.
The blue linked entries are firms that I think offer a terrific mix of excellent
customer service, excellent products or better user friendliness. The
names are linked to take you directly to their website. The unlinked items
in red are firms or websites to avoid doing business with; meaning that either
my experience or the experience of others was quite unsatisfactory. Consider
yourself warned and do not patronize these businesses. There is no
particular order to this list.
The descriptions are there to help you find things. Use the 'Find'
feature usually found on the 'Edit' menu.
This list will be additive but I will remove entries if the product or
service fails to measure up based on my own experience and feedback I get from
you. Please let me know if you have a complaint about any of these companies or
web sites. Likewise if you have positive comments please forward them as
well. Red entries will likely never be removed although I can be
bribed. Also there are no sponsored links here, unfortunately.

fittings... best marine hardware made and excellent service ... plus they
sell directly to us, the boat owners ... you can't buy this stuff at West
but you will find their booth at the boat shows. |

I know, their prices are awful ... try to find a friend with
a Port Supply account to buy for you. Great service though, they
exchange or refund most anything, stores everywhere and the website is ok
but shallow. |

OK, same as West Marine ... store-wise ... but their website
has some excellent articles and information including boat reviews by Jack
Horner. |

David Pascoe has written many articles based on his yacht
survey practice, most are power boat oriented but there are some sailboat
articles and some apply to sail and power ... lots of good stuff about
blisters, engines, insurance, hurricane damage on this website ... |
