THE FLY, from the classic 1958 motion picture of the same name, 1/4 scale (resin).

I'm striving to do all of the busts and bases from the Geometric Designs line of models - busts, minis, and so on.  I've been waiting for this base to come out for a long time.  I've got both bust and base for sale on my site.

Anyway, to the important stuff.  The bust, I took it a wee further than the model was out of the box. To me, flies are gruesome in every respect and the worst of the buggers are the tiny little hairs, sticking out all over the place.  Somebody give that man a razor!  I was a good, good boy and did a bunch of research before diving head first into this project.  I gathered up a bunch of really gross pictures of flies to try and mimic what the bug does best... that is, just being in existence, as far as I'm concerned.  They've got those horrid red eyes, and that mouth - egads! - what a nasty thing that is.  "Kiss me baby ..."  "No thanks I'll pass."  And then there's that drool, I just couldn't pass on the gooey stuff dripping from it's what, proboscis, I guess you might call it?  Anyway, crazy glue to the rescue and got it to drip just right.

I said to myself when it was done... "It's a success!  It's totally disgusting!"   lol
