JOHN BRINDLEY'S PROFILE

My name is John Brindley and I have been building models since I was eight years old.  I, like so many others, started out building the old classics like cars, planes, space ships, battleships, and dinosaurs.  When the figure kits started to get big, I tried those as well.  I was hooked.  I thought to myself..."this is a challenge!"  Not to discount all the other subjects but to make something look alive is a trying task indeed...as Mark McGovern will tell you.

I built my first Godzilla kit when I was ten, the Aurora Godzilla to be exact.  It was the best representation at the time.  When "garage kits" became popular in the eighties, the subject of Godzilla came up again.  Having been a fan of monster movies, I knew I'd enjoy building figure kits again and boy was I right!  The detail was terrific!  They looked just like the ones in the movies.  Every scale, dorsal fin, tooth, and nail to the "T".   I have been collecting and building Godzilla kits ever since.  I found that my collection was getting wide spread with all the different subjects available so I decided it was time to cut down and stick to a particular subject.  I started attending shows to sell off some of my kits.  Some of you have seen me at the IPMS shows selling and displaying my kits in the contests.  I have really enjoyed being part of it all.  See you at the next show!
